President Tinubu and his wife – Senator Remi Tinubu: Nigeria’s money is safe in their hands.
There shall be much to be served as palatable menu tomorrow, Monday, September 23, 2024, at Lagos Talks 91.3 FM, under the supervision of The Guru, when he presents, typically, hot topical Nigerian issues. Ordinarily, these are mostly what many people would not want to touch, and you don’t want to blame those running away from discussing them, because there are, sometimes, unpleasant consequences.
Let us have a foretaste of some of those items that tomorrow holds for us – you can call it preview. Better still I call them teasers.
What a better way to start than reviewing President Bola Tinubu revelation to the Forum of Former Presiding Officers of the National Assembly, led by former Senate President Ken Nnamani, that paid him a visit last week.
President Tinubu emphasized, while speaking to his quests that he is not in office for personal gain but to serve the country, according to how his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy – Bayo Onanuga, reported the encounter.
” I didn’t come to look for money and exploit the situation; I came to work. I asked for the votes, and Nigerians gave them to me”, the President, who was a former senator, told his Quests, after a session of banters and handshakes with former parliamentary colleagues.
We should be giving attention to this weighty revelational statement tomorrow; all things being equal.
I did not come for Nigeria’s money, must have been what the Jagaban was saying. And if that statement were to be subjected to further interrogation, President Tinubu merely told his Club of old colleagues – we should not forget that the man was once a Parliamentarian, having been elected as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at a time, that I did not seek the office of the Nigerian Presidency so as to have opportunity of tampering with the Nigerian Till.
I cherish this as a Testament of Fate – not Faith, anyway. Or, succinctly speaking, it could also be interpreted to stand for a Confessional Statement.
While the President told Nigerians, through this medium, that he would not steal their money, he probably was equally saying that he would not allow anybody to steal Nigeria’s money under his watch.
I am not however sure, if he did understand the totality of that commitment. If he understands it, he will know that he must not be a signatory to any contract that does not carry the Nigerian value in all aspects of interpretation. And many other things would follow.
Of critical evaluation however is that a foundation of this vow had earlier been laid by the President’s wife – Senator Remi Tinubu, a day before the husband was sworn-in as President. On May 28, 2023, while speaking in a very big Church Auditorium – her religious constituency, She said: “God has blessed us so much that we don’t need Nigeria’s wealth to survive”. She even iced the cake by adding that “Nigeria money belongs to Nigerians and my husband will make Nigeria money to work for the people”.
Two quick questions, therefore.
Can it be said that Bola Tinubu, in pursuance of “his life ambition”, as he called his race to the presidency, shall not really touch Nigeria’s money?
Then again, will the wife be able to compel her husband to live up to the expectation of being really blessed by God in such a way that the blessing will persuade them from tampering with Nigeria’s money?
This difficult issue shall be part of The Guru’s presentation and analysis tomorrow, by the grace of God. But anyone that wants to have full dose of the analysis may have to visit the The Guru’s website: www.godwintheguru.org, as from tomorrow’s evening.
There is another teaser we must mention this evening. It has to do with the Nigeria Police Force. Oh, maybe you are just one of the few Nigerians that did not know that since the creation of the Police Force in 1861, it has never pretended being pro-Nigerians, but instead, anti-Nigerians. You may not want to blame the Force too much because that was its concept of creation.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Supol Olumuyiwa Adejobi, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, has come with another deceit formula in convincing Nigerians to believe in the once-aborted NPF E-CMR, with its benefits.
This project was introduced by the Inspector General of Police – Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, a few months ago but the Nigerian people stood astutely against it, since it was meant to exploit Nigerians.
The IGP, we were told, that bowing to the Nigerian people’s pressure, shot it down. But the same exploitative project is being re-introduced, with much icing of the cake within the corridor of cosmetic window dressing – all in a tabulated lie.
See part of the benefits of the project presented by the PRO below:
The FPRO said this new system allows vehicle owners to register their vehicles digitally and provides a quick response for emergencies.
“If your vehicle is registered with the NPF E-CMR and gets stolen, you can instantly flag it as stolen through your online profile,” the statement read.
He said the system then alerts all field officers nationwide within seconds, improving the chances of swift recovery.
He also highlighted that one of the benefits of the E-CMR is the removal of paperwork.
“No more stopping to check papers—our officers are equipped with cutting-edge tech to verify documents in real-time,” one of the tweets read.
“With the NPF’s new E-CMR system, you don’t need to carry around physical documents. Access all your vehicle info digitally quick, easy, and secure,” it added.
It is because everyone of us deserves to know facts of all these presented fallacies that you should join The Guru tomorrow in the studio of Lagos Talks 91.3 FM.
