The Guru Sunday Broadcast

The Guru welcomes you to the studio of Lagos Talks 91.3 fm, tomorrow, Monday, September 2, 2024, at 0930 hours, stylishly, as topical issues shall be scientifically diagnosed. For the teasers, let us look a few of such issues.

The best place to start from couldn’t have been better that a statement of threat accredited to the Minister of the Federal Capital Authority – the immediate past governor of Rivers State; South-South Nigeria, Nyesom Wike, on all the governors of the People Democratic Party [PDP] because the latter paid a solidarity visit to the Governor of Rivers State –  Siminalayi Fubara, a week ago.

The visit to the Rivers State Governor, whom Nyesom Wike considered to be his arch enemy, so tormented him – Wike, that he vowed to bring fire down to whichever State that its governor wants to help Siminalayi Fubara. Listen to what he said:

“And let me tell people – I heard some governors who said they will take away my structure and give it to somebody. I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace, then whatever you see, you take.

“I don’t understand simply because l hear they got some money from a signature bonus; and so, their heads are getting big, that you put a hand in my own state. Prepare, prepare, because I have the capacity to also do the same thing in your own state.

“Whether you are from Bauchi, I don’t give a damn. Whichever state you come from, as far as I know, that you are trying to put yourself in Rivers State, your hand will get burnt. And you will never sleep in your own state. “You will not be governor again. You will see a political crisis as far as PDP is concerned. “So, I have told them now that you have started, when I will start, don’t say I’m the one that destroyed PDP. You are the one that is trying to destroy the PDP,” Wike added.

The threat is tantamount to effrontery of a man acting God. Many people want to know when this Nyesom Wike of a man has become God, in the actual sense of the word. But this is Nigeria where anything goes.

The weight of the statement deserves more detailed interrogation that The Guru would bring some intellectuals to the studio tomorrow to deepen our knowledge of the threat,

There is a report from the grapevine that the Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] has just purchased Six bullet-proof SUV Lexus 600 Series, worth about N10bn for its Governor and four deputy governors – at a time like this in Nigeria. A time that over 90 percent of Nigerians are dying of starvation – a time of hopelessness; so, to say, for a country about to become “was”. We should be saying something about this tomorrow in the studio, by the grace of God.

It is a well-known fact that Bello Matawalle is the incumbent Minister of State at the Defense Ministry. We are not also forgetting in hurry that he was the immediate Executive Governor of Zamfara State. In addition, it was a fact that shall remain in the Nigerian public domain, that as a governor of Zamfara State, he did not even know the difference between “bad bandits and good bandits

In fact, there was a time, as the State Governor, he fraternised seriously with bandits operating in that State, as he indeed feasted them at a time. Of course, and maybe, he shouldn’t be unnecessarily over-blamed, as that might have been his “brilliant thought” of dealing with the situation then. But suffice to say that he left Zamfara State – terrorism wise, worse than how he met it.

Today however, as a Défense minister, he has vowed, moving to the Northwest, to flush out all the bandits in that part of the country.

It would be an interesting fulfilment of vow. Or wouldn’t you look forward to seeing Bello Matawalle achieving this milestone promise?

These would just but few of those serious issues that The Guru shall be tackling in the studio of Lagos Talks 91.3 fm tomorrow. There is a richer and greater revelation about tomorrow’ presentation that you should be knowing. And what would that be?

The iconic comedy legendary – the father of the Nigerian Comedy Community himself, the great Alibaba comes live with The Guru, in the studio tomorrow!
